A New Creative Aging Workshop for Veterans

I can't think of a better time as we near Veteran's Day this coming November to announce that I will be instructing another 8-week writing-and-storytelling workshop in partnership with one of my favorite community partners, The Neon Museum. This workshop is for veterans in the Creative Aging 55+ Older Adult Community.

Just a few months ago, I taught workshop attendees at the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Publishing Conference PubU 2026 that relationship currency is priceless, and that our connections are our biggest assets. That individually we can make a difference, but together, we can make an impact. In other words, there is never a time when we should be striving to achieve our dreams, visions, and goals alone. And The Neon Museum 100% agrees, which is why they also partnered with Veterans' Voices and Honor Flight Southern Nevada to do this important work and endeavor of serving the veteran community here in Las Vegas, Nevada, with their writing and storytelling needs.

And because I understand the community I'll be working with during this 8-week session, I'm so glad to be in partnership with fellow Pathfinder, Shameka Green, to be my workshop assistant.

Shameka and I have worked together for years. Not only is she one of Path To Publishing's book coaches, but she is a licensed therapist as well as military licensed. Running her own successful private practice, for Shameka to commit to this partnership speaks volumes about her as a person, but also speaks to the type of team members I've been blessed to serve with here at Path To Publishing. And with that being said, to all the veterans who have served our country—many who have taken their stories to the grave—it is our honor, duty, and assignment to now serve you.
