Last Chance: Our Final Adult Summer Writing Workshops Is Saturday!

Who recalls taking part in your local library's Summer Reading Challenge programs? Remember all those cool activities . . . and the prizes we would receive for reading books or engaging in activities?
Well now, as adults, we can still be part of the library summer programs, but this time, we can actually be the authors of the stories! And I'm honored to be one of the teaching artists leading the way!
Talk about a full circle moment. I've gone from a child sitting at the feet of an author while they transport me to a different world . . .

. . . to an author myself, helping others unearth the stories inside them. This summer I've been privileged to be part of FOUR Summer Writing Workshops - and our FINAL One is Saturday, July 25th!

Joylynn Teaching Her Workshop
Folktales and legends... True or false, they are often thought to be a tale so tall, the natural eye can’t see where they begin or end. In the “Short Tall Tales” writing and storytelling workshop, you’ll get the opportunity to craft your very own short version of a tall tale. You can choose to add to an existing folktale or legend or author a new one. We’ll start the workshop with a brainstorming session to put you on the path of literary engagement and enjoyment.
Your workshop instructor, National Best-Selling Author and Teaching Artist Joylynn M. Ross, will provide you with the tools, prompts, and guidance to develop and flesh out your story. No special requirements, writing, or storytelling skills needed. This is simply an opportunity to carve out dedicated time and space to pen and/or tell your very own tale.

Your story can be based on fact or fiction. Feel free to bring your laptop, tablet, or notebook. Supplies and prompts will be provided. All you need to bring is a dash of imagination, a pinch of creativity, and get ready for some literary fun and fellowship! And if telling tall tales isn't your thing, feel free to work on any story or work in progress you like! The time and space is yours to just write your story.
