Path To Publishing Course Instructor (Literary Educator) Training

Path To Publishing Certified Course Instructors have been on the consultant side of the business as well as the published author side of the business and are experienced enough to be able to instruct both. Sure, Path To Publishing Certified Course Instructors follow a certain curriculum, but it isn’t some old outdated text book, and it certainly isn’t a cookie cutter, one-size fits all service. Our strategies, resources, and curriculum are constantly updated, bringing in what’s fresh and relevant, getting rid of anything that hasn’t been beneficial to past clients, and may not fit the goals and visions of current clients.

The Path to Becoming a Path To Publishing Certified Course Instructor

A Path To Publishing Certified Course Instructor educates students about the realities of entering into the publishing world before they blindly dive in. Prior to being accepted into the program for certification, our literary instructors (who are published authors) must have served as literary consultants a minimum of two years, and worked one-on-one with enough writers and authors to have a complete overview of the writing and publishing journey, as well as the struggles authors face on the road to both literary and financial literary success.

Building a publishing school from scratch takes time, effort, and a whole lot of trial and error. However, Path To Publishing Course Instructors get to skip straight to the front of the line, using a proven and time-tested system that has worked for hundreds of Path To Publishing clients throughout the years.

The Path To Publishing Certified Course Instructor Program has several tiers; students can either elect to take the tier that appeals to them most, or choose to complete all of them. Each tier is $10,000, which includes the training, support, and referral business needed for students to succeed upon completion of the program. Individual tiers take approximately three months to complete, and require mandatory annual re-certification plus quarterly reviews and attendance at a yearly retreat/conference/online meeting. Once they’ve been verified, instructors are eligible to instruct Path To Publishing clients and host Path To Publishing branded events in their area of expertise.

Tier 1 instructors train authors to build better books by educating them about the industry expectations and best practices used in writing, editing, design, and marketing, as well as the overall process of book publishing. Their 3-month training program also includes a month spent developing their leadership skills, so they are better equipped to gain the trust and cooperation of the students they work with and prepare them for the literary spotlight.

Tier 2 instructors train authors to meet the challenges involved in turning books into businesses. From choosing a name that fits their professional vision, various types of business structures (and the advantages of each), the best way to separate business and personal expenses as well as operations, tracking income versus expenses, calculating, reporting, and paying taxes, accounting and hiring accountants, intellectual property rights and hiring an intellectual property lawyer, plus leadership training for business owners, they are equipped to set authors up for success every step of the way.

Tier 3 instructors train authors to make a living with their writing beyond the sale of their books, including how to get other people to pay for their business endeavors, secure paid writing gigs, obtain grants and sponsorships, increase their book sales without directly selling books, and making money from content they’ve created apart from their books.

Tier 4 instructors train authors to turn their books into online courses, workshops, and conferences so they can amplify their impact and increase their income. As part of their curriculum, they will create an online course or workshop which will be promoted by Path To Publishing and will be eligible to host Path To Publishing branded instructional events in their area of expertise.

Tier 5 instructors are specialists in instructing authors how to create and encourage attendance at live events such as book signings, author meet-and-greets, retreats, and more. As part of their curriculum, they will create a live event which will be promoted by Path To Publishing and will be eligible to host Path To Publishing live events in their area of expertise.

Tier 6 instructors are specialists in literary leadership training and instruct authors in the tools, techniques, and best practices of literary leaders.

Tier 7 instructors are true masters of the craft who have successfully completed all tiers, and are eligible to teach every aspect of the literary business!

Path To Publishing 12-Month Literary Leadership Certification Program

Brandy Miller, Path To Publishing Verification, Certification & Training Program Coordinator

Literary Leaders are excellent at recognizing and cultivating talent, locating and implementing creative solutions to complex problems, coordinating efforts among diverse groups of individuals, and are driven by an inborn desire to produce greatness within themselves and those around them.

These are the people who seek not merely to create a book, but to develop a movement that will leave a lasting impact on the world around them, which will impact both current and future generations.

The Need for a Literary Leadership Certification Program

Great Leaders are Cultivated. They are Not Born.

Most of the people who find themselves in these leadership roles are not only unaware of the significance of the role they are playing and its potential to shape and form the world around them, they are untrained in how to wield the power they hold effectively.

This is especially true about authors and artists, teachers, parents, coaches and consultants. As a result, their work is often unappreciated, dismissed as insignificant, or diminished by people around them.

They may struggle to get the help or support they need to carry out the role they’ve been given. They may find themselves getting nowhere on important projects because they can’t get anyone to agree with them on the best way to handle things.

They end up stressed out, frustrated, and feeling like a failure because they can’t get anybody to listen to them or to cooperate with them in doing the work that must be done to accomplish the great things they have in mind.

Literary Leadership: A Stress-Less Approach to Leading

Being in a leadership role often feels like herding cats. You’re trying to get people who don’t want to do what you want them to do moving in the same direction and working toward the same goals. Whether it is the clients you serve or the audience you attract, getting people to cooperate with you and take you seriously can be a challenge.

The reason most leadership strategies fail is that they fail to LEAD people by employing the 8 keys to literary leadership: Clarity, consistency, communication, connection, commitment, community, collaboration, and conversion.

Those 8 keys are what it takes to unlock the hearts and minds of the people around you to get them not only willing to follow you wherever you want to take them, but eager to serve you and help make your dreams come true with less stress for them and for you.

What Your 12-Month Literary Leadership Journey Will Focus On:

Month 1: Clarity of Vision

Month 2: Commitment to the Vision

Month 3: Consistency of Action

Month 4: Connection with Those They Lead

Month 5: Communication of the Vision

Month 6: Community Building

Month 7: Collaborating with Other Leaders

Month 8: Conversion

Month 9: Listening for Understanding

Month 10: Empathize with Their Situation

Month 11: Ask Relevant Questions
