It's no secret that once upon a time, I battled—and defeated—depression and anxiety. If you read my autobiographical novel, I Ain't Me No More (E. N. Joy), then you know I have a couple failed suicide attempts under my belt as well.

"Life's a bitch . . . and then you still gotta live."

I apologize to any who are offended by the language, but it's a direct quote from my mother—God rest her soul—who was never happy a day in her life (and for good reason), as I share in a brief segment in my book, Lady of the House.

If you haven't guessed by now, my entire life is an open book, literally, sprinkled throughout the pages of the over 40 books and publications I've written under multiple names and in multiple genres for over a quarter of a century.

As I share with the business owners the Path To Publishing team works with over on the Path To Connections branch of our business and services: Your story should be your first product and your first marketing asset. I believe in practicing what I teach, and therefore, I openly share the parts of my story I feel safe sharing in prospective safe spaces. It goes without saying that, Pathfinders, you are my safe space.

Because of my own battle with mental health issues, I make sure the PTP and PTC team know that I care about theirs, which is why we declare the last Saturday of every month as Mental Health Saturday. That is when each team member receives a reminder email to take care of their mental health and are offered resources and tips to do so.

Below are links to some of the articles, tools, and resources:

Remember, be aware of your mental health each and every day of the year. The same way you do preventative maintenance on your automobile and home to keep them working properly and in order, do the same for your brain, heart, body, and soul.

Blessings!
