Making a Business: Writers Helping Writers

Most published authors struggling to make a living from their writing overlook one of the best opportunities they have for making money: helping other writers get their books published.

Recent studies show that over 80% of people believe they have a book in them, but struggle to get it done…and they are willing to pay someone good money to help them.

One recent client paid us $15,000 to help him get his book published, marketed, and promoted.

While not every client is going to purchase that type of publishing and marketing/promotion assistance package, some will pay more and some less. The possibility to make a great living helping writers fulfill their dreams is there.

Times are uncertain. Many authors – even those who know about this opportunity – may fear that now is not a good time to start a new business. After all, they've heard the statistics that many new businesses close their doors within three years.

Those closed businesses can cost someone their home, their savings, and their peace of mind. Some of those business owners end up in bankruptcy court, burdened with debts they cannot repay.

It doesn't have to be that way, though. The three reasons most people trying to start a new business fail is simple:

1)They don't have a proven system to use in building their business.

2)They don't look for and secure a mentor who can guide them in doing it the right way and avoiding mistakes.

3)They don't have a reputation built, so they can struggle to get clients to trust them and their abilities to help.

Path To Publishing wants to help published authors looking to make a great living from their writing and publishing experience overcome those challenges and become successful business owners running their own literary consulting business or publishing school from the comfort of their own homes.

We provide a proven system that we have used to successfully help authors achieve their dreams of publishing a book and making a great living doing it.

Using this system, we mentor and guide published authors in setting up their businesses the right way and avoid the mistakes we made so they don't let those mistakes stop them.

We have spent almost 25 years in the publishing business and have built a successful literary business on the strength of our reputation. We will refer clients to those who successfully complete our training programs.

There are three training programs we offer:

1)Verified Literary Consultants: These are the people who work one-on-one with our clients to guide them through the process of writing, publishing, marketing, promoting, and selling books.

2)Certified Literary Course Instructors: These are the people who want to start publishing schools teaching others the processes of writing, publishing, marketing, promoting, and selling books.

3)The Verified and Certified Master Literary Educator: These people want to do both, and we provide them the tools and training needed to get it done.

Our founder, Joylynn M. Ross, and our Training Program Coordinator, Brandy M. Miller, can both testify to the value of what's being offered.

"There was no path for me to follow when I started my business. I had to make one for myself, putting it together one painful step at a time. There was no system to use – I had to make my own. I built these training programs to give to others what I didn't have so they don't have to go through what I went through to keep my business going strong these last two decades plus." – Joylynn M. Ross

"I wish I'd had someone there to guide me when I started my business helping other writers get their books published. It would have saved me thousands of dollars in lost opportunities and prevented so many of the heartaches as I struggled to build my business. I wish I'd had a system that I could have used to help my clients achieve results. Instead, I had to develop it as I went, and figure things out along the way." – Brandy M. Miller

We're launching these training programs because Path To Publishing is getting so many clients in the door and need more hands to serve them. While we could hire employees, we recognize that the best service comes from those who have a stake in the outcome and not just in a paycheck. We prefer to equip published authors who have an entrepreneur's mindset with the tools they need to succeed and then partner with those who are interested in serving our clients.
