As an award-winning teaching artist on the Nevada Arts Council and Lifetime Arts, Inc. teaching artists roster, here in Las Vegas, NV, I’m out in the community quite a bit working with some of the most amazing community partners in the valley. One of those partners is The Neon Museum. Last month, I was invited by their Outreach Coordinator, Kaylee O’Donnell, to assist in presenting at East Las Vegas Community Center, another community partner.
I was in awe watching Kaylee share with the creative aging older adult community why stories and storytelling are the backbone, heart, and foundation of who The Neon Museum is and what they do. They house so many stories of this town. And let’s face it, whether a resident or not, almost everyone has a Vegas story. lol!
I’m just honored that I get to help members of the creative aging community unearth, write, and tell their stories, and this is greatly in part due to the training I received through Lifetime Arts.

Our last 8-week writing & storytelling workshop took place March 3 - April 21, 2025, at The Neon Museum (with a phenomenal culminating event which the public is invited to attend), as well as a two-day writing & storytelling workshop February 5-6, 2025 at East Las Vegas Community Center. While these events have passed, the opportunity hasn't. We do plan to host additional workshops in the near future.
