Telling the Truth

There are two different types of organizations that hire me - Joylynn M. Ross, CEO of Path To Publishing - to share my literary and publishing expertise at their conferences and events. The ones who can handle the truth and the ones who can't . . . whether it's going to benefit them, someone else, or not.
For example, because some of their sponsors are audiobook professionals, a certain organization may not want me to share the following tip with the audience:
"Authors, the next time someone asks you if your book is available in audiobook - and it isn't - simply say the following to the reader: It's available in eBook. And if you simply ask Alexa to read the eBook to you, bam, it becomes an audiobook. Of course, there are other apps and programs that can read an audiobook to you, a PDF, Word Doc, etc. Practically everything can become audible. Why should you miss out on a sale . . . and why should the reader miss out on a great read?"

Keep in mind that the above tip has to do with accessibility as well.
Yes, being a truth teller is a double-edged sword at times. And, yes, this may cause me to miss out on paying opportunities. But if you are hosting an event (in-person or virtual) and you need someone who is going to share life-changing - and even money-saving - tips, tools, information, and resources that is going to add value and benefit to your audience's life, consider booking me for your next engagement.
