Market Your Book and Brand with Branding

We've been having the time of our lives sharing what we know has been the most invaluable and absolutely priceless information, tips, tools, and resources when it comes to writing, publishing, author, literary, financial literary, and publisher success.

And, if you haven't figured it out by now, it's all part of the pre-order campaign for Path To Publishing CEO Joylynn M. Ross's upcoming title, Your Book is Your Business: Money-Making Sales Strategies.

Instead of month after month of . . .

"I have a book coming out."

"Here's the pre-sale link."

"Please buy it."

. . . Like Joylynn teaches in her course about how to run a successful pre-order campaign, she's spending months telling and showing authors and publishers the benefits of the information, tools, and resources she has to offersome of which can be found in the book. She's spending months adding value to other people's lives, careers, and businesses. She's spending months transforming lives by being a resource and sharing valuable tips, systems, and strategies.

This is what we refer to when we sayand why we recommendbeing a resource before being an author.

Joylynn is showing up more so as a resourcean expertrather than an author.

All of which are part of the main ingredients of a successful pre-order campaign. But the most important ingredient, to ensure both pre-publication and post-publication success of the book, is making sure the content meets the readers' expectations. And that's when another factor of a preorder campaign comes into play, which is sharing excerpts from the book.

Below is an excerpt of a chapter from Joylynn's upcoming book, Your Book is Your Business: Money-Making Sales Strategies:

Market Your Book and Brand with Branding

Whether you are headed out to the coffee shop to allow someone to pick your brain, headed to a library conference room, headed to a co-op space or hotel suite to meet clients, prospects, partners, collaborators, or are headed out to teach a workshop or what have you, be sure you arrive early so that you have enough time to brand the space.

I have what I refer to as a "mobile" office. I actually keep a mini, square trunk in my automobile (that has rollers and a handle) so that my mobile office supplies are with me at all times. I can pop up shop at the drop of a dime. The items I keep in the trunk allow me to brand a meeting space outside of my home or office where I may be meeting clients, or even set up my own pop-up book shop in a parking lot, should I desire.

When I'm meeting in a coffee shop, I try to get a booth or the largest table available. Although I do have tablecloths branded with my logos and book covers, I don't spread out my tablecloth in the coffee shop. And even though I have several tabletop retractable banners, I don’t set those out in a coffee shop either. I save them for larger spaces, where I’ll also lay out one of my branded space rugs. When meeting at a coffeeshop, I do set out the following:

Branded placemats

Branded cardboard coasters

Branded pens, pencils, highlighters

Branded notepad/notebook/or sticky pads

I lay out my business cards as well that I keep in a nice little business card holder that matches my branding colors.

I also sometimes lay out stickers, pins, or keychains.

If I've rented out a co-working space, library conference room, or hotel suite, in addition to the above, I lay out the following . . .

And for your troubles, below is another delicious tip from the chapter . . . literally:

I even had a local baker make branded cookies with my company logo that I set out for my clients to indulge in.
