Tricks and Treats for Pathfinders

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

Halloween is almost here and Path To Publishing is preparing plenty of tricks, aka hacks and tips, as well as treats to help you write and publish your book in excellence! It’s an exciting time as we look ahead to 2024. We’re already planning our strategies for how we’re going to help every single Pathfinder achieve their literary and financial literary goals in the New Year.

Meet Pathfinder & Author Nikki T. Anthony Live in Person Friday, October 20, 2023 at 3:30 PM EDT at the Columbus Metropolitan Library: MLK Branch

Columbus Pathfinders – this one’s for you! Our own Pathfinder (and first author to be published on our traditional publishing imprint, PTP Press) Nikki T. Anthony is going to be autographing her book, The Price We Pay, and sharing how and why it's a novel approach to having difficult conversations, at 3:30 pm EDT.

Come out and meet her, along with Earth O. Jallow, Path To Publishing's Director of PR, and get to know and form relationships - and possibly collaborations - with other Pathfinders at the same time.

You can purchase your copy of The Price We Pay at any bookstore/book retailer and online at Walmart.com and Amazon.com. Support your local independent bookstore by purchasing your copy at Bookshop.org. Nikki will also have a limited supply of the hardcover editions on hand for her signing.

Path To Publishing is partnering with SCORE Mentorship, a free business mentorship program for entrepreneurs and small business owners, to offer a one-hour webinar on how to use your personal and business story to bring awareness to your brand and sales to your business.

We’ll be covering the key elements of a marketing story and then we’ll teach you how to repurpose that story to create other marketing material, such as blogs, articles, website copy, newsletters, social media content, and books.

The webinar is free to attend but spaces are limited. To register, visit https://readytalk.webcasts.com/starthere.jsp?ei=1636293&tp_key=e275a0caab&sti=presenter

DFW Pathfinders: Meet Path To Publishing’s Program Development Director, Brandy M. Miller, at the Writing Your Way to a Better Tomorrow Live Workshop in Denton Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Central

We’re partnering with the Greater Denton Arts Council to host a NaNoWriMo kickoff event for the DFW area at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center in Denton at 404 E. Hickory, Denton, TX 76201. The event is free to attendees and open to the public.

Grab your pen and notebook and join us for this hands-on workshop. It’s designed to help anyone – from experienced writers to complete novices – get started writing their story. We’ll also be tapping into the brain’s hidden superpowers to tackle the mindset challenges common to authors and artists alike.

Meet Kimberly Davis, CEO and founder of nonprofit traditional publisher Madville Publishing, and discover what it takes to get traditionally published while Brandy explains the self-publishing process. You’ll also be hearing from Denton Toastmasters, Denton’s oldest Toastmasters club, what public speaking can do for your writing and art career.

Writing Your Way to a Better Tomorrow Classes Start Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 6:00 pm PDT

We’ve been working hard to develop a writing course that will help our Pathfinders blast past their emotional, spiritual, financial, and writing blocks and we’ve hit GOLD! People we’ve tested the "Writing Your Way to a Better Tomorrow" course on tell us it’s like literary and writing therapy, and creative writing all in one…only better. Every person who completed the course during its test stage saw improvement in their writing and mindset.

As part of our beta launch, we’re offering the nine-week course at just $99 (that's only $11 per week) because we want to be sure we work out all the kinks before releasing it at its full price of $197. VIP tickets are available at $499 that include four weeks of one-on-one writing coaching and email support throughout the course. Click here to register today.

The Blueprint to Publishing Success

Did you know that Path To Publishing CEO, Joylynn M. Ross, has taken almost everything she has learned in her over 25 years as a literary industry professional and packaged it into three online courses? It's also the same curriculum she teaches at the annual Act Like an Author, Think Like a Business conference. But you can learn it all at your own pace and on your own schedule with lifetime access to the tools, information, and resources.

Joylynn's work in the world of writing and publishing includes being a national best-selling author with the Big New York publishers as well as small press publishers, an acquisitions editor for Urban Books in which the titles are distributed by Kensington Publishing Corp, a freelance editor and ghostwriter for major and indie publishers (in which several of the authors' books hit the New York Times), as well as a literary agent who has landed clients book deals with Simon & Schuster, Kensington, and other large and small publishers. What you will find in these courses is every step it takes to build your book, build your book business, and make a living as a writer.

As a result, you will be able to increase your book sales, catapult your literary career, or start your own publishing company/imprint. Everything thing you need to achieve all of the above can be found in the "Beyond the Basics of Publishing", "Build Your Book Business", and "Make a Living as a Writer" online courses available at https//www.pathtopublishing.com/conferencestore.

Until next time, we're wishing you writing and publishing success!
